IRAN, Pahlavis. Muhammad Reza Shah, AH 1360-1398 / AD 1941-1979. Order of the Pleiades, also Order of Haft Paykar (Nishân-i-Haftpaykar) (Gilt Silver and Enamel, 68 mm, 62.56 g), Breast Star, 1st Class. By Arthus-Bertrand, Paris, after 1955. Central blue enameled disc with seven golden stars, depicting the star cluster Pleiades within a white enamel ring with 24 stars; all surrounded by six open double loop ornaments, with six partly white enameled shell-shaped designs; on top, brown and blue enameled Pahlavi Crown. Pin with hallmark. A rare and sought after type with very well preserved enamel. Partially worn gilding and minor scratches on the reverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
